The girls contest was a tale of turnovers, cold shooting and two teams who played hard and did not quit. The opening period was nip and tuck with WOG holding a 10-8 lead. In the second stanza WOG forged ahead 18-8 as Greenfield went ice cold from the floor until Walker Finklea and Victoria Vesce canned back to back treys with 2:38 to play. Sisters Nadine and Kaila Ealey then added a pair of hoops to give WOC a 22-16 halftme advantage. Cold shooting plagued both squads in the third period as Greenfield failed to get a field goal in the stanza and WOG was only able to manage a pair the first coming with 1:55 to play on a Vivi Emodi follow shot. Greenfield was able to fight back cutting the WOG lead to 37-34 with 52 seconds to play nut the Ealey sisters hit a hit a pair of charity tosses each to ice the game.
Word of God was paced by Nadine Ealey with 18 and sister Kaila with 15 points. Ashley Hughrs was Greenfield’s only double figure scorer with 12 while McKenzie Blackwell added eight and Victoria Vesce seven.
